Because of the smoke and water damage to the rest of the house resulting from the fire and actions to contain the fire, the entire house was remediated down to the studs. In the process, a new roof was installed over the whole house in 2018. All appliances, including water heater and furnace, were replaced. All repairs/remediations were fully permitted during the process. The demo permit was issued on December 20, 2017. Final permits for Electrical, Plumbing, and Mechanical passed on January 15, 2019. The claim was submitted to and paid by Liberty Mutual. Liberty Mutual still carries the homeowner's policy on the property.
