From bagel spots and frozen custard shops to dumpling restaurants and fast-casual chains, several new eateries have recently opened from Neptune Beach to Orange Park, with more on the way. Here’s a quick look at some of the newest additions — and what’s still to come — around the Jacksonville dining scene.
Open Now
Jeff’s Bagel Run
The first Northeast Florida location of Jeff’s Bagel Run opened March 5 at 628 Atlantic Blvd. in the Publix-anchored Seminole Shoppes in Neptune Beach.
Originally founded in Ocoee, the franchise is known for its scratch-made bagels, house-whipped cream cheeses, and craft beverages, along with specialty coffee drinks made with beans from Otus Coffee, which the brand acquired in 2024.
Founded in 2019, the Neptune Beach shop is the brand’s 31st location nationwide, with more than 100 additional locations currently in development. The shop is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
H&H Bagels
After opening its first Jacksonville location in June 2025, H&H Bagels has added a second area shop at 3735 Longleaf Pine Parkway in The Shoppes of Aberdeen in the Julington Creek area of St. Johns.
The well-known New York City brand — famously featured on Seinfeld and Sex and the City — now operates seven locations in NYC along with newer franchises in Boca Raton, Tampa, West Palm Beach, and Miami. The expansion is part of a nationwide growth plan that began in 2021 and now includes more than 70 franchises.
H&H Bagels is open daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Whit’s Frozen Custard
Two new Whit’s Frozen Custard locations have opened in Northeast Florida — one at 1075 Oakleaf Plantation Parkway in Oakleaf Plantation and another at 10131 San Jose Blvd. in Crown Pointe Shopping Mall.
The openings bring the regional total to eight locations for the Midwest-based custard brand, which now operates more than 100 stores across 11 states. The company is also searching for another site in St. Johns County.
Whit’s is open noon to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.
Yan Sushi
Yan Sushi has opened on Jacksonville’s Southside at 5711 Bowden Road in the Bowden Corners Shopping Center.
The fast-casual restaurant serves sushi rolls, sushi burritos, poke bowls, and hibachi dishes, along with fruit drinks, teas, and sodas.
Jersey Mike’s
A new Jersey Mike’s Subs franchise has opened at 832 A1A North in the Tournament Plaza shopping center in Ponte Vedra Beach.
Franchise owners Mark DeBiase and Andrew Maider operate the location, which serves a variety of hot and cold subs with freshly sliced meats, cheeses, and vegetables on bread baked in-house. The restaurant is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Zen Dumpling
Zen Dumpling has opened in the Hunters Corner Shopping Center at 1939 Wells Road in Orange Park, bringing another dumpling option to Southwest Jacksonville.
The restaurant specializes in handmade steamed dumplings filled with meats and savory broth in the Chinese xiao long bao style, with options including pork, beef, shrimp, and crab. The menu also features wok dishes and small tapas plates.
Zen Dumpling is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the company plans to add several more Florida locations in the coming years.

Cava
The popular Mediterranean fast-casual chain Cava is planning a new location in Baymeadows. A permit was issued Feb. 10 for Horizon Construction to build the restaurant at 9303 Baymeadows Road in the shopping center in front of the SpringHill Suites Marriott.
Cava serves Mediterranean-inspired pitas, grain bowls, salads, and a variety of sides and dips. With more than 400 locations nationwide, the Baymeadows restaurant will become the fifth Cava in the Jacksonville area.
